Opportunity Area Twinning Funding

 

In May 2021, the Department announced a new place-based approach for four areas of the country where there are low proportions of pupils in Ofsted Good or Outstanding schools, and high potential for rapid improvement. Plymouth was named as one of the Local Authority areas for this committed approached to support schools to improve outcomes. For 2021/22 Minister Donelan, has subsequently agreed a tilting approach for Opportunity Area’s (OA) which are known to support levelling up more broadly than the OA locality by “twinning” with places that have similar needs, linking learning and resources.

Proposed projects are:

1. Plymouth Secondary SEND Support

2. Plymouth Secondary Oracy Programme

3.Trauma Informed Training

4.The Greenshaw Learning Trust Leadership Programme for Plymouth

5. Plymouth Key Stage 2 to 3 Maths Transition Programme
